The Book of Acts mentions prayer 39 times in 28 chapters; one of the most explosive eras of growth in the church came in Acts 6:4-7 after the apostles said, (We) “will give ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.” And aren’t we, as the modern church, supposed to “pray without ceasing” (1 Th. 5:17) and “devote yourselves (ourselves) to prayer” (Col. 4:2)? Then why is prayer still on the back burner in most congregations? Why is it a low priority—especially when it comes to our evangelistic efforts?

Here at CrossView Prayer Ministries we believe that today's church must put prayer back at the top of its agenda. That’s why we offer this Prayer Enrichment Seminar, to stimulate God’s people in the practice of Biblical prayer.

SEMINAR DETAILS:

Usually our Prayer Seminar kicks off on a Friday night with one or two sessions. Saturdays the Seminar takes up the morning, or afternoon - whichever best suits the group's schedule. In the case of churches, the Seminar continues on Sunday morning during worship hour and Bible class time (if desired.) Normally, this Seminar schedule can mean 6 or 7 hours of intensive training in prayer.

TOPICS: Keith Roberts' Prayer Seminar:

Depending upon the group’s needs and interests, here are some suggested topics: “Why God Waits For You To Pray,” “The Prayer Life Of Christ,” “The Prayer Life Of The Early Church,” “Disasters Of Prayerlessness,” “How To Pray In Faith,” “Biblical Heroes Of Prayer,” “Prayer & Evangelism In Acts.”

TOPICS: Hugh Gower's Seminar:

Workshop topics offered (depending on what your group needs): "The Nuts and Bolts of Prayer," "The Sin of Prayerlessness," "How to develop a Prayer room," "Jesus' Prayer Life," "A Man After God's Own Heart," "Setting up a Prayer Group," "Praying through Acts," "How to Listen in Prayer," "Corporate Prayer," "The Lord's Prayer," "Blessed or Cursed?" (seminar about stewardship.)

RETREAT TOPICS:

"How to listen to God," "How to have a weekly retreat," "Developing your Prayer Life," "How to spend time with God," "Setting up a Prayer Retreat."

SEMINAR DETAILS:

Normally a Prayer Workshop is conducted on Friday night, Saturday morning (with a noon meal), Saturday afternoon and evening, then concludes on Sunday morning. This allows for eight to ten hours of prayer training.

The Prayer Retreat consists of Friday night; Saturday Morning (with a Noon meal) and an afternoon Prayer Retreat. (This is practical application for what has been studied.) These formats can be customized to your church needs.

TOPICS: Prayer & Evangelism Seminar:

Here are some topics covered by Bob Danklefsen & Hugh Gower in the Prayer & Evangelism Seminar: "The importance of Prayer," "How to Develop Corporate Prayer," "How to Initiate a Dialog About Salvation," "How to Remove Smoke Screens When Evangelizing," "How to Share the Gospel and Answer Objections."

SEMINAR COSTS:

Since we know that each group has a different budget, there's no set fee for these seminars; only travel expenses for the speaker(s) and an honorarium of the group's choice.
